Region 10 is attending professional learning in Montgomery, Alabama, on the revised modules of the Foundations of Beginning Reading.  The modules consist of the five components of reading (Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, & Comprehension), Intervention, Assessment, and the Conceptual Framework.

WOW! It seems like yesterday we were getting ready for Christmas break and now all of a sudden we are gearing up for Spring Break! Since the last post we have held another Quarterly Meeting (#3) at SARIC in Mobile. The focus was the Language Standards and Academic Vocabulary. We have also completed another round of Coaching Communities. Some were delayed due to the unusual winter weather we experienced last month but at this point everyone has meet with their groups. The feedback we have gotten has been very powerful and we are looking forward to the next meetings scheduled for the last of March through the first part of April. We are very busy here in Region 10!
The last CCRS Quarterly Meeting (#4) will be held on Friday April 24, 2014 at SARIC. Look for more details closer to the date.
